Sandra Bullock is putting her money where her mouth is. The Oscar-winning actress and single mom, 46, donated $1 million to the American Red Cross toward earthquake and tsunami relief efforts in Japan, the charity told CNN on Thursday.

It's the largest donation made by a celebrity yet in the wake of the 9.0 magnitude earthquake that hit the island nation last Friday -- triggering devastating tsunamis, leaving thousands dead, untold devastation and a weakened nuclear power plant.

(The Red Cross points out that some celebs may have made anonymous donations.)
