Katrina Kaif in New York – Her Role
New York (2009) was a Kabir Khan movie that revolved around the political aftermath of 9/11 attacks in the United States. The movie opens when Roshan (Irrfan Khan) arrests Omar (Neil Nitin Mukesh) on charges of terrorism and interrogates him. Omar finds out that he is falsely implicated in the case and the FBI is using him to get back at his old friend Samir (John Abraham) who they think is a terrorist. Before the 9/11 incident, Samir, Omar and Maya (Katrina Kaif) are friends who study in the same university. Neil Nitin finds out that Katrina is in love with John Abraham and they eventually get married and have a son. When the FBI reunites Neil again with their previous friends to collect covert information, he finds everything to be normal.
However when he is about to finish the mission, he realizes that John was arrested for terrorism and was left for lack of evidence. The event changes John and Neil finds that he is indeed thinking of carrying out bombings across New York. Katrina, Neil and Roshan race against time to prevent him from carrying out such a diabolical act of vengeance.

Katrina Kaif was born on July 16th 1984. Her mother is of Caucasian-British decent and her father who is originally from Kashmir, Katrina Kaif was raised mostly in Hawaii and started modeling at the age of 14 in a jewelry campaign, which turned into a career and her spending most of her time in London modeling for various companies. After arriving in India she was flooded with modeling contracts due to her innocent looking face, hour glass figure and gorgeous look. The offers came from companies like LG, Cola, Fevicol and Lakme which is the commercial that got her noticed. Most of her early work was with photographer Atul Kasbekar.

She was discovered by film maker Kaizad Gustad while she was modeling and she landed a role in the Bollywood film "Boom", getting her first big break in the film industry.and Her interest grew more towards Bollywood, and then she finally decided to move to Mumbai to take up acting profession on permanent basis, it is worth mentioning here that the moment she landed in India, she was flooded with number of modeling assignments and her dream of acting in

Bollywood gradually fulfilled as she bagged many interesting roles by different directors.
Initially, her voice was dubbed over by native speakers, but it was changed after Hindi film Namaste London, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya 2005 which was her first hit and also followed by Sarkar 2005 which was her second hit. She is currently perfecting her Hindi and despite being linguistically challenged at first with the native tongue, she was still offered roles in Bollywood films. Katrina Kaif also takes dance lessons furthering her assimilation into the Bollywood culture. And Katrina Kaif has retained the top spot in an annual list of the world's 50 sexiest Asian women.

She is definitely one of the most beautiful women in the Hindi Film industry. However, no one has ever written a love poem for Katrina, she believes that love is the only beautiful thing in the world. The actress wishes that Gulzar saab would write one for her.
Recently at the launch of Pritish Nandy’s book ‘Love Poems’ she says, “Nobody has ever written a poem for me. But if actually someone writes a poem for me, I think that will be very romantic.”
She was looking her best in an off-white knee length dress, Katrina, 26, surprised everyone present there saying, “I want Gulzar saab to write poems for me.”
Gulzar, 74, has written many poetry books and innumerable songs, was also present at the event. He said, “Inshallah, I would write a poem for Katrina for sure.”
The entire event was about love poems, and it was obvious that everyone wanted to know Katrina’s views on love and romance. The actress obliged everybody by sharing her views.
“Even though love is known to entail pain, disillusionment, disappointment, still I don’t want to be pessimistic about love. I would rather want to have a positive approach to love. I believe that there can be a happy ending, because love is the most beautiful thing in the world,” said Katrina.
When media asked her about her Valentine’s Day plan she said, “No plans, I will be working on that day.”
