Olivia Wilde: Divorce made me better actress

Olivia Wilde says her divorce has made her a better actress.
The Hollywood star, who is best known for her roles in TV drama House and 2010 science fiction film Tron: Legacy, split from husband of eight years Tao Ruspoli earlier this year.
The 27-year-old says the difficult experience has heightened her emotions, and as a result has seen her acting improve.

"It makes you a more empathetic person, and I think it's made me a better actress," she revealed in the new edition of Marie Claire. "Weakness is something we don't like to admit we have. We hold it against people, until we experience it, and then we feel more compassion for it."
The stunning star, who has been linked to a number of Hollywood hunks since the split including Justin Timberlake and Bradley Cooper, says David Shore, the creator of Fox hit House agrees with the notion.
Olivia has joked that the television producer says she should go through emotional turmoil more often in a bid to keep her acting at an all time high.
"[David] said 'You should get divorced every year; your acting's never been better!'" she laughed.
Olivia maintains that both she and Tao, a son of an Italian prince, are on good terms. The stunning star says she would hate to have a “negative” relationship with her former beau.
"We're friends; his family is my family. You always have a choice to feel angry and not be friends. But I can't handle the idea of walking into a room and seeing someone I have bad blood with. I can't keep any negative relationship with anyone,” she explained.
Olivia admits that both her and Tao, 35, knew their elopement was a risk at the time. The beauty was 19, and married her lover in an abandoned school bus.

"Our deal from the beginning was, 'We're crazy to do this, but we're doing it because we're in love and it makes us happy. The only reason to divorce is if one of us isn't happy. Life is too short.' After really trying to make the relationship evolve in the way our lives had, I realised it wasn't a natural evolution,” she said.
Olivia is feeling shaky about being a singleton. The Hollywood actress says she is fruitless when it comes to dating.
"I'm trying to be adult, entering the shark pool of dating, but I'm hopeless at it!" she smiled.

HOLLYWOOD - HOLLYWOOD'S brightest stars finally hit the red carpet on Sunday for the climax of its annual awards season, with British royal drama The King's Speech hoping to be crowned with Oscars glory.

Academy Awards co-host Anne Hathaway was among the first to arrive at the Kodak Theater, resplendent in a red strapless, big bustled dress likely to be the first among numerous costume changes in store during the evening.

'There's a lot more sucking in tonight,' said first-time nominee Jennifer Lawrence, 20, reflecting the mood as photographers snapped away at the parade of glittering gowns on the Hollywood Boulevard runway.

'It's unbelievable. I never played football, so this is the closest I'll get to the Super Bowl,' added Jesse Eisenberg, up for best actor for his portrayal of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network. The Oscars show is the culmination of the multi-billion movie industry's awards season and has been preceded by months or frantic campaigning for the coveted gold statuettes waiting to be handed out on Sunday night.

Lindsay Lohan to Be Charged With Grand Theft

Lindsay Lohan's excuse for walking out of a jewelry store with a piece the owner says she ripped off was that the store let her borrow the thing on loan.
The store basically called BS on that, saying they don't just loan stuff out. There are insurance requirements and lots of paperwork required beforehand.
Bad Bandit
Apparently the L.A. County District Attorney agrees with the owner. Sources say that officials will soon file felony grand theft charges against Lindsay.

Lindsay's freedom in the great necklace caper is riding on her claim that the Venice, Calif., jewelery store owner loaned her the $2,500 necklace in question.
Proving that might be a tough task, but proving she's lying may be equally difficult for the accuser and D.A.'s office. Especially if someone else signed for it.
But the simple fact that surveillance video from the store shows LiLo with the necklace and photos of her wearing it a week later were enough for the D.A.
If convicted, Lindsay faces a maximum of three years in state prison.
Can she beat the wrap on this? It will all depend on what happened at the store, or more accurately, how much of what happened the store can prove.
According to a Lohan source, she doesn't fill out diddly when she "borrows" necklaces ... she leaves that to her people, or so pals of the star are saying.
Lindsay is telling friends ... "I don't deal with things like that" and blowing it off as a "misunderstanding." But there's one issue with the "on loan" theory.
When she figured it out, why didn't she just return it to the store instead of sending an underling to the LAPD, just as they were ready to raid her place?
That's what law enforcement likely isn't buying.

Christie Brinkley Prevention cover 2011

Christie Brinkley , 56, has three children – Alexa Ray, 25, Jack, 15, and Sailor, 12 – and says being a mom was always part of her life plan.

Christie Brinkley has been divorced for more than two years, but she's in no hurry to find love again.

"Most of the time, I've got my kids with me, so I'm not as prone to meeting people," Brinkley tells February's Prevention, out Tuesday. "And then, you never really know if someone is talking to you because you're a celebrity. It's not my number one priority."

"I always knew I wanted to be a mother ... it takes a lot of work," Brinkley says. "My work makes me a better mom. It gives me a little door to step out of my parenting and bring the excitement from that day back home."

She also says she's found a novel way to bounce back from her painful – and very public – divorce from ex-husband Peter Cook. (She was also previously married to singer Billy Joel.)

"You've got to find a way to keep laughing, even if it's black humor, and my friends are very good at that," she says. "Some people think of happiness as a luxury, but it's a necessity, and you need to make space for it in your life."

LINDSAY Lohan due back in court

BEVERLY HILLS (California) - LINDSAY Lohan is returning to familiar territory - a criminal court to face a judge who could send her back to jail or rehab for a failed drug test.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elden S. Fox will formally determine whether the 'Mean Girls' star violated her probation with the drug test in September. If the actress admits the results are accurate - as she has already done publicly - then Fox could return her to jail or order her to remain in an inpatient rehab program.

Fox had been expecting Lohan to arrive at court directly from jail, where he ordered her to be held on Sept 24 after a brief hearing. Within hours another judge had overturned his ruling and the starlet was released on bail.

The following week, a person close to the actress told The Associated Press, Lohan entered rehab for the fifth time. The source spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue.

Her recent court troubles have put Lohan's career on hold. She missed opportunities to promote her role in the summer film 'Machete' because she was in jail and rehab. Her next starring role is supposed to be in a biopic on porn actress Linda Lovelace.

Friday's hearing will be Lohan's fifth court appearance since May, when she ran into trouble with her probation on a three-year-old drug and drunken driving case. -- AP

Actress Lindsay Lohan: From A-list to jail

LOS ANGELES - TROUBLED Hollywood starlet Lindsay Lohan sobbed and pleaded in court but a judge still slapped her with 90 days in jail for violating probation in two 2007 drunken driving cases.

The actress, 24, also was ordered Tuesday to participate in a 90-day in-patient substance abuse program.

'I'm not taking this as a joke and this is my life. This is my career and everything I've worked for for my whole life,' Lohan pleaded with Beverly Hills superior court Judge Marsha Revel. 'If I had known I had to be here every week, I would've balanced it - work and everything.... It's just been such a long haul.' The judge however would have none of it.

Revel likened Lohan to 'someone who cheats and only thinks it's cheating if she gets caught'. Revel announced: 'the court doesn't buy that this time'. Once a promising young A-list actress whose career since has spun off course, Lohan has been known to audiences for years.

After working as a child model, the freckle-faced redhead earned big breaks to become a Disney star in movies like Freaky Friday, the remake of the kids' classic Parent Trap, and Herbie Fully Loaded. Lohan wowed fellow actors and many critics, swiftly acting her way up the Hollywood food chain to A-list work with the likes of Oscar-winners Meryl Streep in Prairie Home Companion and Jane Fonda in Georgia Rule.
