JAZZ singer Jacintha Abisheganaden and corporate trainer Koh Boon Pin have ended their decade-long marriage, reported The New Paper yesterday.
Attempts to reach both parties yesterday were unsuccessful. Jacintha's mobile phone was switched off while Koh, a former Straits Times Life! deputy editor, did not pick up calls to his phone.
The two were married in Bali in May 1998 and have a nine-year-old son, Alexander.
This was the third marriage for Jacintha, 50, and the first for Koh, 43.
She was previously married to American lawyer David Scheffer for three years and long-time collaborator, musician Dick Lee for five.
Last year, she released Jacintha Goes To Hollywood, an album which featured a Hollywood movie theme.
Lee, 52, told Life! that he was quite surprised to hear about the split.
'She seemed quite ensconced in her family life and she's always talking about her child and him going to school and all those domestic activities. She seemed quite contented.'
He added the couple had also often attended events together. However, he said that he had not really been in touch with Jacintha much since their divorce in 1997. The last time they met was when they were both judges for Singapore Idol in 2006.
'I don't see her socially. I left her alone to have her own family life which was the proper thing to do anyway,' he said.
